Lesson learned #5: Human health benefits from investments in animal health

The link between animal diseases and human health is clear – By some estimates, more than 75% of our human disease originate with animals.
 
In making investments to protect human health, we need to look backwards to the origins of disease. Ultimately, the investments made to protect animal health and stem the transmission of diseases across borders may benefit human health more than we realize.
